TECH’s Sales & Marketing Manager, Pamela Rainey & European Business Development Consultant, Alan Bithell recently attended the ITIA (Irish Tyre Industry Association) 2020 Conference in Athlone, Ireland. As the representative body for key stakeholders within the Irish tire industry, the ITIA represents a host of manufacturers, wholesalers, suppliers and retailers throughout Ireland. Committed to promoting public awareness of tire safety, training and industry requirements, the ITIA works to raise standards by developing comprehensive professional programmes for numerous areas of the automotive industry*.
TECH Europe was delighted to attend the annual meeting in support of the need for professional standards throughout the tire industry including the importance of tire repair guidelines and training. TECH’s Alan Bithell, who is also recognised as the Chairman of the British Standard steering panel for the tire repair standard BS AU 159g and director of the Retread Manufacturing Association, kicked off the conference earlier this month.

Alan has continued to work closely with the ITIA in an advisory capacity to introduce tire repair standards and guidelines into Ireland. During his presentation, Alan discussed the extensive training programmes offered by TECH Europe and also showcased a selection of TECH’s leading tire repair materials, explaining their stringent manufacturing process to ensure they provide safe repairs which also adhere to other industry standards such as BS AU 159 and ECE 108/109.
Products on show included TECH’s Uni-Seal Ultra Plug Patch Repairs which provide a simple, quick, and safe method to properly repair both radial and bias tires. Tires repaired with TECH’s Uni-Seal Ultra repairs outlast the life of a tire as they are permanently filled by the stem and strengthened by a thick, non-fabric-reinforced rubber cap.
Also present during the conference was TECH’s valued distributor, TechPlus Ltd. The TechPlus team, led by Managing Director, Hugh Brady, continue to work closely with the ITIA and their partners across Ireland to create best practice guidelines for all remits of the automotive market including adopting professional tire repair standards.
