It’s October which means Tyre Safety Month is here!

TECH Europe is pleased to support UK charity, Tyresafe, in raising awareness of the importance of safe tires on the roads! #TyreSafetyMonth aims to educate motorists about tire care, safety, and maintenance, as well as the potential dangers of unsafe and defective tires. This year’s campaign if focused on ensuring your tires are ready for #ACTion by regularly checking:

➡️ Air Pressure
➡️ Condition
➡️ Tread

Inspecting the above is not overly time consuming and should be checked at least once per month to ensure safety on the road. Plus, by following the basic steps of tire maintenance, your tires will deliver maximum mileage and wear.

Let’s look at the above 3 key areas in more detail:

  • Air Pressure – It is vital that the tire pressure matches the manufacturer’s recommendations and be checked with an appropriate pressure gauge at least once per month. Incorrectly inflated tires increase tire wear, fuel consumption and can lead to tire failure.
  • Condition – Tires should be checked regularly to ensure there are no objects around the tire and in the tread. Any issues should be checked immediately by a professional.
  • Tread – As a tire tread grips the road as you drive, if it is not deep enough, a car loses traction and suffers extended braking times. Tread depth should be checked in line with local government safety regulations.

With over 80 years’ experience, TECH knows the importance of tire safety and is committed to educating consumers about proper tire repair and care. Unsafe and poorly maintained tires are not only unsafe but also increase fuel consumption, tire wear and harm the environment.

The TECH product portfolio encompasses a wide variety of products such as Radial and Bias repair units, plug-patch combination repairs, cements and related chemicals, all expertly manufactured to repair all types of tires including passenger and light trucks, OTR and agricultural. To ensure air pressure safety and conformity with industry legislation, the TECH TPMS programme offers a full range of OE replacement sensors, universal T-Pro sensors, service kits, valves and market leading ATEQ diagnostic tools, not forgetting the recently launched NFC (Near Field Technology) Enabled Universal Sensor.
